Lindsay Collegiate and Vocational Institute is an AP school LCVI is pleased to participate in the internationally renowned Advanced Placement program. The AP program provides students with opportunities to pursue university-level studies while still in high school. Students demonstrate their scholastic achievement on international exams, excel in their high school programming, and improve their chances of being accepted by the university of their choice and gain exemption from some introductory course work at university. This past school year, several of our graduating students wrote the AP examinations, achieving some very high marks. An accompanying chart identifies the Ontario universities recognizing the AP courses for credit. In preparation for the grade 12 AP courses, students, entering grade 9, with an honours standing in a subject at the grade 8 level should consider registering for enriched programming in pre-AP courses offered in grades 9 to 11. Students may select one or more of the AP courses, recognizing that enrolment in the enriched courses will require concentration and dedication. The AP program is an excellent preparation for continued success in post-secondary
studies and ensures a smooth transition to university course work. For more information about the AP program please contact: Andrea Borysiuk - AP Coordinator 705-324-3556 ext 320 or e-mail: A.Borysiuk@tldsb.on.ca
