
Elementary Programs
Details of the elementary curriculum, as designated by the Ministry of Education can by found on their website. To learn how the curriculum is being implemented in your child's classroom, or to ask any questions, pease contact your child's teacher or principal.
There are many exciting programs available to elementary students from Kindergarten to grade 8 at Trillium Lakelands District School Board. Please click on the links on the left hand panel of this page. Other programs are listed below:
| Balanced School Day | A balanced school day is a schedule which includes provision for three 100 minute blocks of instructional time. |
| Character Education | Character Education is a learning initiative throughout Trillium Lakelands District School Board. It is the school board’s belief that schools complement and partner with the home in values education. |
| EcoSchools | The Ontario EcoSchools program has been designed to help school boards and schools play their part in responding to one of the great challenges of our time — the increasingly urgent need to live more sustainably. The main goals of EcoSchools are to help schools reduce their energy consumption, minimize their waste, green their school grounds, and teach staff and students to become more ecologically literate. |
| Heritage Fair | Heritage Fair provides a great opportunity for students of all ages to experience Canadian heritage through fun and hands-on learning. The goal is to explore history and celebrate learning by including as many people as possible within Trillium Lakelands DSB school communities. |
| School's Cool | School's Cool is a 72 hour learning readiness course for children ages 3 - 5. In Trillium Lakelands, Schools Cool is offered at a number of schools and communities during the summer months. |
| TLDSB Arts Camp | Trillium Lakelands District School Board offers an arts camp to qualifying students in grades 7 to 12. |
| Trillium Trek | Trillium Lakelands Elementary students "trekked" a total of 8,284.16 km during the 2004-2005 school year from St. John's, Newfoundland to Victoria, British Columbia. Way to go Trillium Trekkers ... this year Canada, next year around the world! |
| World Class Schools | 20 of Trillium Lakelands District Schools follow a “World Class School” theme. This program enhances the belief that schools want to make a difference in the lives of students. |
