What is Video Conferencing?
Video conferencing uses telecommunications of audio and video to bring people at different sites together for a meeting. This can be as simple as a conversation between two people in private offices (point-to-point) or involve several sites (multi-point) with more than one person in large rooms at different sites. Besides the audio and visual transmission of people, video conferencing can be used to share documents, computer-displayed information, and whiteboards.
Administrative equipment locations include:

Administrative use of the equipment is booked through Tandberg's Management Suite and may be requested through the reception desk at each location. Requests for public access to video conferencing equipment may be directed to Peter Warren, Principal, e-Learning.
Classroom Instructional use may take the form of:
- Virtual field trips.
(Students visit a museum, science centre or sports hall of fame) - Cultural exchanges
(Collaborative work on projects with out-of-country classes) - Interdepartmental meetings
(Professional connections with colleagues at a distance) - Dual enrollment and advanced placement

Description: The Giggles Childrenbs Theater is located at St. Joseph's
Children's Hospital in Paterson, NJ. At Giggles we endeavor to create a
forum in which children can watch a performance (either in the Theater or
in the comfort of their hospital rooms) and focus exclusively on laughing
and enjoying the entertainment, rather than the pain or fear they may
otherwise be experiencing. It also aims to ensure that any subsequent
trips to the hospital will not induce a sense of dread for a child, but
will rather spur a happy memory of the Giggles Theater.
Since our theater is located in a children's hospital we are a unique
venue, therefore, on our "virtual field trips" we are looking to
have fun! The audience size ranges from 0 to 5 people in the theater.
There are many more children watching from their hospital beds that are
not well enough to come to the theater. All of our shows are broadcast
live into the children's rooms through a closed circuit tv system. These children cannot interact directly but they do enjoy the show.
We are interested in schools that would like to "perform" for
the pediatric patients and their families at St. Joes. As our audience is
diverse we are looking for a wide variety of entertainment. Here are a few
ideas:
* A Class Play
* Story Time - reading stories with a theme then doing a simple craft that
the kids in the hospital can do too
* Cool Science Experiments
* A Concert Choral or Instrumental
* Arts and Crafts - teaching the pediatric patients how to make a few
crafts
* Any of the above in Spanish
* Ideas you may have
